Much Wenlock Cricket Club is 139 years old. They still play at their original ground, the Linden Field, which is the site of the rebirth of the modern Olympics.
The Club is currently expanding. The Firsts gained promotion to Division One in 2005 and to the Shropshire Premier League in 2007. The Club started a second team four years ago who have won promotion from Divisions Seven and Six of the Shropshire League in successive years and now play in the Reserve Division. The 2009 season has seen the creation of a third team who are playing in Division Seven of the Shropshire League.
The ground gained new sightscreens and new covers last season thanks to Wenlock Fencing and Bardons. A new pavilion will be completed for the 2010 season as part of the William Brookes School rebuilding project.
